Joseph Mallord William Turner RA (1775 - 1851) was an English painter, printmaker, and watercolorist.
James Tibbits Willmore ARA (1800 - 1863) was a British engraver.
Title: Tancarville.  Château de Tancarville is an 11th-century castle on the Seine in France.
Signature: Without any letters.
Materials and Techniques:
Line engraving on India paper laid on wove paper.  Dimensions: Image 3 3/4" x 5 1/2" Sheet 10" x 13".
Condition: The wove paper is overdried, and fragile. Tears to the lower margin. Lost wove paper to corners. Stains. A detailed condition report is available on demand.
Publication: Turner's Annual Tour, 1834: Wanderings by the Seine. Turner made designs for three volumes of views of French rivers annually in 1833-5: 'Wandering by the Loire' in 1833, and two 'Wandering by the Seine' in 1834 and 1835. They are usually known as a series of 'Turner's Annual Tour.
