Inscriptions: Inscribed in pencil along the lower margin: “copy of study by Michaelangelo” (sic).

: Graphite on toned paper.
Provenance:  The Estate of George "Yorgo" Demetrakopoulos; professor, assistant director of the Medieval Institute, and assistant to the dean at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan, from 1965-2000.
Condition: Good overall condition, with small peripheral tears. Remnants of old tape along the upper edge verso.The signs of aging are appropriate for the period. A detailed condition report is available on demand.

- Academic figure study of a male nude shown from the back. The composition derives from Michelangelo’s preparatory studies for the Battle of Cascina (circa 1504–1505), long regarded as a canonical source for academic training in anatomy and movement.
