Engraver: Nicolas Chaperon (French, 1612-1654/5).
Title: Jacob complaining to Laban at being given Leah in marriage.
Inscribed in  plate: Typis Petri Mariette via Iacobea sub signo Spei. Lettered with Latin text from Genesis chapter 29 and numbered in bottom right corner; "R.V.I./ N.C.F."
Dimensions: Sheet 9 1/2" x 10 1/2'. Support 11" x 14".
Publisher: Pierre Mariette I (French, c. 1603-1657).
Date: 1649 (plate).

Mat and Frame:
The sheet is glued to backing at top corners.
Provenance:  The Estate of George "Yorgo" Demetrakopoulos; professor, assistant director of the Medieval Institute, and assistant to the dean at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan, from 1965-2000.
