Artist: Adolf Jelínek Alex (Czech, 1890-1957), painter, printmaker. Studied in Prague at Umeleckoprumyslová skola (the School of Applied Arts) with A. Jank, and then at the Akademie výtvarných umení (the Academy of Fine Arts) with M.Svabinský. In 1924 he traveled to Paris to participate in an exhibition of Czech graphic art.

Materials and Techniques: etching on laid paper.
Provenance:  The Estate of George "Yorgo" Demetrakopoulos; professor, assistant director of the Medieval Institute, and assistant to the dean at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan, from 1965-2000.
Condition:  trimmed within the borderline, upper left corner is lost. The signs of aging are appropriate for the time. A detailed condition report is available on demand.
