Artist: Anthony van Dyck (Flemish; British, 1599-1641). Painter, the pupil of Rubens, in Italy (1621-26), then from 1632 mainly in England where he was knighted by Charles I.
Engraver: Jan Meyssens, painter, engraver, and publisher. Born in Brussels in 1612 and moved to Antwerp in 1640 where he died in 1670. He published work by Wenceslaus Hollar and prints after portraits of artists, 'Diverse Hommes d'Esprit sublime,' in the manner of van Dyck's Iconography.
