Artist: possibly, Hans Schaufelein, (German, c.1482-1539/1540), painter and designer of woodcuts and glass-paintings. Strongly influenced by Albrecht Dürer, in whose studio in Nuremberg he worked from c. 1503. The more than thirty woodcuts for "Laienspiegel" created by the monogrammist HF and by Hans Schäufelein are known.
