Title: Firenza citta nobilissima in Toscana (Florence, a very noble city in Tuscany).
Dimensions: Sheet 3 1/4" x 3 1/2"
Edition:  Giacomo Filippo Foresti da Bergamo (1434–1520). His Supplementum chronicarum (first printed at Venice, 1483) was a supplement to the usual universal chronicle; it ran to numerous subsequent editions. We identified our print 
as the same as in edition 'Supplementum supplementi delle croniche del venerando padre frate Iacobo Philippo, dell'ordine Heremitano primo auttore: nouamente reuisto, vulgarizzato, & historiato, & con somma diligentia corretto: con la gionta vltima del 1540 insino al 1552'.  The letterpress verso also matches.
Date: 16th Century.
Materials and Techniques: colored woodcut on paper.
Provenance:  The Estate of George "Yorgo" Demetrakopoulos; professor, assistant director of the Medieval Institute, and assistant to the dean at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan, from 1965-2000.
Condition Possibly, later coloring. The signs of aging are appropriate for the time. A detailed condition report is available on demand.
