Artist: Johann Rudolf Huber (1668 – 1748) was a famous Swiss portrait artist.
Engraver: Johann Rudolph (Rudolf) Schellenberg (1740 - 1806) was a Swiss artist and engraver, the grandson of Johann Rudolf Huber.
Titled in the plate: Marraine. 17. The typewritten label on the back of the engraving: Unknown F1173 Marraine.
Materials and Techniques: Engraving on wove paper. Gilded contemporary frame.
Provenance: Said to be from the Heinz Estate. All thirteen prints in this set are uniformly framed and bear identical collector’s labels verso.
Dimensions: Image approximately 6 1/2" x 4". Sheet approximately 9 1/4" x 6 1/4". Framed approximately 10" x 7".
Condition: Stains, foxings. Partial loss of gilding on the frame. Unexamined outside of frame.
