Artist: Jan Frans van Bloemen (1662 - 1749) was a Flemish landscape painter mainly active in Rome. He joined the Bentvueghels, the Dutch and Flemish artists association in Rome, where he took the nickname Orizzonte or Horizonti

Publisher: John McCreery, English publisher and printer (1768-1832).
Edition:  A Collection of Original Etchings. Published by McCreery. London, 1816. The original copper plates were believed to have been destroyed after this publication.
Date: 1816 (published).
Materials and Techniques: etching on a thin, lightweight wove paper printed without margins. Mounted on the same paper as other McCreery prints and presumably taken from the same volume because of the same three sides’ gilded edge and matching size.
Mat and Frame: adhered to backing paper at corners.
Provenance:  The Estate of George "Yorgo" Demetrakopoulos; professor, assistant director of the Medieval Institute, and assistant to the dean at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan, from 1965-2000.
Condition: The signs of aging are appropriate for the time. A detailed condition report is available on demand.
