Edition: The print is bound within Volume 2 (1897) of the Revue de l'Art ancien et moderne. It is documented as Jean-Paul Laurens' last etching.
Date: Late XIX C.
Materials and Techniques: Etching on heavy, toned wove paper.
Provenance: The Estate of George "Yorgo" Demetrakopoulos; professor, assistant director of the Medieval Institute, and assistant to the dean at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan, from 1965–2000.
Condition: Full sheet with wide margins. Heavy damage to sheet edges, including large losses at the upper left and along the lower and right edges. Multiple tears and creases throughout, most notably along the bottom margin. Verso shows significant toning, handling wear, and remnants of adhesive/tape along the lower and right edges. Surface dirt and discoloration overall. Brittle paper. The signs of aging are appropriate for the time. A detailed condition report is available on demand.
