Artist: Penni Luca Detto Romanus (c.1500/1504–1556). Luca Penni was an Italian painter of the 16th century best known for his work in France as part of the First School of Fontainebleau.
Engraver: Giorgio Ghisi (1520 - 1582) was an Italian engraver from Mantua who also worked in Antwerp and in France.
Title: Allegoria della caccia (Allegory of the Hunt).
Signed, Numbered, Titled, and Dated: Lettered in tablet at lower left 'Luca / Pennis / R / Inven / Georgius / Ghisis Mnt R / MDLVI,' and two lines along the bottom 'In sylvis habitans ... Humeriso fera.'
Dimensions: Platemark 14 1/4" x 10". Sheet 15 1/4" x 11".  Mat 21" X 16".
