Inscriptions: Upper cartouche text: “TENTATIO DÆMONIS, ET DI/VINI SOLATII REFOCILLATIO”. Lower cartouche contains an elegiac Latin verse: “Franciscus in spinas dæmonum... ab angelo pascitur”. A small, contemporary Renaissance-style number “4” is engraved directly within the dark, lower-central landscape terrain, hidden among the briers. Lacking the volume plate number "10" within the upper cartouche border. Handwritten folio number “259” in pencil in the lower right margin.

Watermark: Partially visible contemporary 16th-century watermark located in the right portion of the sheet, clearly observable through backlighting across the torso and back of the devil figure, reconstructible as a Fleur-de-lis (Lily) motif consistent with Strasburg/Flemish rag papers of the 1580s (Briquet Fleur-de-lis variants).
Condition: Very good. Even, mild age-toning and subtle oxidation across the sheet. Minor marginal dust-soiling. The ink tracking remains remarkably dark and deeply bit into the paper. One tear. A detailed condition report is available on demand.
