Signed, Titled, Dedicated, and Dated: in the plate. Annotated and signed a second time beneath the image.
Dimensions: Sheet 10 3/16" x 15 1/4". Mat 16 3/4" x 21 1/4".
Date of the execution of the plate: 1624. We are not able to inspect the paper for watermarks insofar as it is glued to a cardboard backing.
Materials and Techniques: Etching on laid paper.
Mat and Frame: Floating against the white cardboard, a silk mat.
Provenance: The Joshua B. Kind Trust. Joshua B. Kind was a Professor of Art History at Northern Illinois University, Northwestern University, and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Condition: Trimmed just outside the borderline on three sides, outside the platemark below. Minor vertical fold. Creasing and wear consistent with age. Unexamined outside of the mat. A detailed condition report is available on demand.

Note: Depicted Nicole, Duchess of Lorraine, surrounded by courtiers and onlookers days after her accession to the throne on 1 August 1624.
"Callot includes in Le Parterre many famous images found in other prints, including a woman carrying a pan on her head (from Varie Figure), and a man carrying a weapon (from Combat a la Barriere).
