Cartographer: Adam Friedrich Zürner (German, 1679 – 1742). In 1738, Adam Friedrich Zürner described the travel route between the Saxon and Polish capitals that he had previously developed and measured on behalf of August the Strong under the title “Short instructions for the usual journey from Dreßden to Warsaw”. (Agnieszka Gryz-Männig und Frank Männig).
Publisher par les héritiers de Homan Nuremberg (Homann Heirs). Homann Heirs was a German map publishing company that was active from 1730–1848The company was founded in 1702 by Johann Baptist Homann, a famous mapmaker. After his death in 1724, his son Johann Christoph took over the business. Christoph died in 1730 at the age of 27. After Johann Christoph's death, the company was managed by Johann Michael Franz and Johann Georg Ebersberger.

Materials and Techniques: hand colored engraving on laid paper. Folded as issued. Two parts of the map are pulled from the same plate.
Provenance:  The Estate of George "Yorgo" Demetrakopoulos; professor, assistant director of the Medieval Institute, and assistant to the dean at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan, from 1965-2000.
Condition: Dumpstains, wear, wrinkles, remnants of supporting paper verso. The signs of aging are appropriate for the time. A detailed condition report is available on demand.
