Artist: Rosso Fiorentino painter and draughtsman, b. Florence 1494 - d. Paris 1540. Rosso is one of the most original and inventive painters of the first generation of Mannerism.
Engraver: Jacopo Caraglio (Italian, Parma or Verona ca. 1500/1505–1565 Krakow (?), engraver of copper and hardstones, and later in life a gem engraver, goldsmith, and perhaps also an architect. In Rome in 1526, collaborated with Rosso. By 1539 in Poland, where worked for the court until his death.
Printmaker: unknown printmaker 16th (?) century.

Materials and Techniques: engraving on paper.
Provenance: The Estate of George "Yorgo" Demetrakopoulos; professor, assistant director of the Medieval Institute, and assistant to the dean at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan, from 1965-2000.
Condition: Laid down. The backing is partially removed. Scratches, stains, grease, foxing. The signs of aging are appropriate for the time. A detailed condition report is available on demand.
