Engraver: Agostino Veneziano (1490 - 1540), whose real name was Agostino de' Musi, was an important and prolific Italian engraver of the Renaissance.

Signed, Titled, Numbered, and Dated in plate: Signed on plate with the monogram 'A.V.' on a tablet at lower centre. Inscribed on plate 'Ant. Sal. exc.' and 'In Roma presso Carlo Losi' at lower right.
Dimensions: Image 7 1/4 x 10". Backing sheet 9" x 12".
PublisherCarlo Losi. Publisher in Rome, active between 1771-74 when he seems to have acquired some already engraved plates which he re-issued. His address appears on some late states of Diana Scultori, Giorgio Ghisi, and other late 16th-century printmakers. (Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco).
