Artist: Christian Wilhelm Ernst Dietrich (German, 1712-1774), painter and etcher. 1731 court painter under Augustus the Strong, using the name 'Dietericy' from c.1732. 1741 appointed court painter to Augustus III; 1748 superintendent of the Dresden painting collection. 1763 professor at Dresden Academy and 1764-66 director of the art school attached to the Meissen porcelain manufactory.
