William Humphrys (1794 – 1865) was an English and American engraver of pictures, book illustrations, and postage stamps.
Title: (Portrait of Catherine Schindlerin). She was a German singer, active 1770s. Sir J. Reynolds executed her portrait in 1775. Another famous artist, engraver, and publisher John Raphael Smith published an engraving after this portrait in 1777. The Engraving by William Humphreys, which is actually a copy of Smith's portrait, was published in 1849.

Condition: The left margin and lower right corner are partially lost. The impression is rich and bright. The engraving is glued to the mat.
